I can't stand the Pink ladies Shai so I got one of these and I love it! the weight is good and it shaves like a dream!

Just had my first shave with a Dorco system ever and it was this handle with the three blade cartridge. The handle is very nice, just as nice as the best ones from the major chains that I have owned and better than most of them. And the shave was great! I've got whiskers like wire and I'm glad this thing works as advertised. Another reviewer commented that this handle (3/4) was better than the regular 3 one. Haven't seen the regular 3, but this is a nice handle. I wouldn't expect the regular 3 to be any better and it might be worse.

I have a coarse beard and so I bought the 4 blade as I read that the 6 blades were too close together for thicker beards. I have been extremely impressed. The razor and blades are the best I have ever used bar none. It's a no brainer for me from now on.
Outstanding - Dive Right In!

Before I bought, I was a bit worried reading a small handful of negative reviews but decided to dip my toe in the water and give Dorco a try with this starter set and a few replacement blades. After a week and a half of use, I can say to others, dive right in!!
The shave handle is substantial and techie-feeling like the ones you see at retail. The three blade cartridge I am using not only gives comfortable, smooth, close shaves with no nicks but the blade almost feels like it's getting better each time i use it. Can't wait to move on to the 4-blade cartridge but it might be a while since the 3 is so good.
Don't believe the haters. (I think some people like to bash as a hobby.) Dorco has earned a dedicated customer here.
Trust the positive reviews - Dorco delivers!
98¢ per refill? Nice shave for the price!

You can barely buy one refill for the cost of this "sample" set. I normally use the Gillette Mach 3 Turbo and figured I would try this shaver to see if it matched up with my regular HIGH cost razor. First, I tried the 3 blade (3 vs. 3) and although the shave was not as close, it was close enough to not be a factor. I do not have thick or dark hair, in fact I cannot grow a beard. What I was worried about was under my nose and a mole on my jaw just off my chin that gets cut whenever my razor gets dull. I had no problem getting those areas done and with no nicks or cuts. I tried the 4 blade and that was a lot better. I also bought the 6 blade set with 8 refills and that razor is even better! If you have thick or dark facial hair, I would recommend this razor. Cost is only $4 more for 24 - 6 blade refills ($32) compared to 24 - 4 blade ($28), which is dirt cheap compared to the brand name refills at $3-$4 each!
The razor handles are way better than the brand name stuff! Ergonomically designed to work well going up or down on your neck.
I dropped them twice on purpose to see if they would break or if the blade would come off and neither time did anything happen! To me, the sample 3 - 4 blade handle feels better. The 6 blade handle looks better (6 blade handle is chrome with black rubberized plastic and the sample 3 - 4 blade handle is white rubberized plastic but has a good non-slip grip on the sides). I'm really impressed with the quality of these razors and handles. All 3, 4, & 6 blade refills fit all of the handles, they are interchangeable!
I recommend the handle with the 3 and 4 blade sample for $3.71 & the 24 - 4 blade refills for $28. You get 25 - 4 blade refills, the handle and one 3 blade refill for $31.76. That's just over $1.22 per refill, with a free handle! If you search online you can find a 20% off coupon. I did and it worked. It brought my cost to 98¢ per refill!
Thanks DORCO for giving me a quality shave at great price. I hate using disposable razors!
Great blade, odd handle

I have been shaving both my face and head every other day for 10 years with a Mach 3. So far the Dorco 4 blade definitely gets a closer shave even after the 3rd use. The only thing I had trouble with is the angle of the head which doesn't seem to have the range the Mach 3 does. I'm sure it just takes some getting used to, I will be ordering the 4 blade in bulk soon.

Adjusting to the shape of the handle
Posted by Paul Magnus on 3/24/2014
After using the Mach 3 for years, it's taking some time adjusting to the handle. The head is not beveled like I'm used to (doesn't swivel). I've only used it 6 times, it does a great smooth job.
After using the same razor for 12 years, it's just different. Really like the smooth shave and the price.
Very smooth shave !!

I'm retired so I shave every other day and sometimes every third day so when I do I want a blade that feels smooth. I've been using a Gillette sensor 2-blade razor since it came out with no problems except the cost, now about $2 per cartridge. I also have a Merkur double edge razor and try different blades, Merkur, Feather, and others. The Dorco 3 and 4 blade cartridges compare favorably to the best shaves I have gotten and the price is considerably less than that for the sensor cartridges. Of course the double edge blades are the least expensive way to go if price is the main consideration. My problems with Dorco's are 1) I would like the pivoting head to be a little stiffer and 2) the razor is more difficult to use than sensor when trimming sideburns. When held side-by-side the angle of the sensor is slanted more favorably for using as a sideburn trimmer. Despite these two problems I am very pleased with the overall comfort and closeness of shaving with Dorco razors and like the ability to change from a 3 to a 4 blade cartridge using the same handle. Overall, the Dorco razor is a very good product that I will continue to use.
