Great Handle, OK Blades
Posted by Al Friedman on 1/23/2017
I bought the Pace 3 & 4 Try Me, as well as the Pace Trial Pack, so that I could check out a wide variety of handles and blades. I really like the rubbery grip of the handle, if feels better and more comfortable than the heavier metal handle that came with the Pace Trial Pack. The 3-blade and 4-blade cartridges that came with the Try Me pack are good, but not as good as the 6-blade cartridges that came with the Pace Trial Pack. I will say that the blades lasted a long time, perhaps 3 weeks, before they started to dull. Very cost-effective, but I'm willing to spend slightly more for the Pace 6 cartridges.
Lasts a long time

I bought the try me 3 & 4 package just to try it. I had been using brand G and didn't like the crazy price for the cartridges. First off let me say I have a beard, but, I still shave my cheeks and neck every day. I do not use any kind of shave cream or soap. I still get a single pass clean shave every time and I have been using the same cartridge for 17 months. No that's not a typo its the truth. I expect to get a full 2 years out it at this pace. I like it so much I bought them for my grandsons to use. Believe or not its up to you. I do not work for Dorco and not receive any compensation for this review. Best of luck with your purchase.
Looks good Shaves great!

I can't stand the Pink ladies Shai so I got one of these and I love it! the weight is good and it shaves like a dream!

Just had my first shave with a Dorco system ever and it was this handle with the three blade cartridge. The handle is very nice, just as nice as the best ones from the major chains that I have owned and better than most of them. And the shave was great! I've got whiskers like wire and I'm glad this thing works as advertised. Another reviewer commented that this handle (3/4) was better than the regular 3 one. Haven't seen the regular 3, but this is a nice handle. I wouldn't expect the regular 3 to be any better and it might be worse.
Don't leave your razor on the tub

I ordered the Dorco 3 blade system to try to get away from the cheap disposables I was using. I have been using it for about 6 months now and also using less and less of the disposables I have left over. I didn't realize how much liked it until my wife accidentally threw my Dorco away, thinking it was a disposable. 15 minutes later I am online reordering two, 3 blade combo packs just so this won't happen again.
These are really good. I am also getting a combo pack for my son for a Christmas present. Once he tries Dorco, I think he will like it.

I have a coarse beard and so I bought the 4 blade as I read that the 6 blades were too close together for thicker beards. I have been extremely impressed. The razor and blades are the best I have ever used bar none. It's a no brainer for me from now on.
Outstanding - Dive Right In!

Before I bought, I was a bit worried reading a small handful of negative reviews but decided to dip my toe in the water and give Dorco a try with this starter set and a few replacement blades. After a week and a half of use, I can say to others, dive right in!!
The shave handle is substantial and techie-feeling like the ones you see at retail. The three blade cartridge I am using not only gives comfortable, smooth, close shaves with no nicks but the blade almost feels like it's getting better each time i use it. Can't wait to move on to the 4-blade cartridge but it might be a while since the 3 is so good.
Don't believe the haters. (I think some people like to bash as a hobby.) Dorco has earned a dedicated customer here.
Trust the positive reviews - Dorco delivers!
98¢ per refill? Nice shave for the price!

You can barely buy one refill for the cost of this "sample" set. I normally use the Gillette Mach 3 Turbo and figured I would try this shaver to see if it matched up with my regular HIGH cost razor. First, I tried the 3 blade (3 vs. 3) and although the shave was not as close, it was close enough to not be a factor. I do not have thick or dark hair, in fact I cannot grow a beard. What I was worried about was under my nose and a mole on my jaw just off my chin that gets cut whenever my razor gets dull. I had no problem getting those areas done and with no nicks or cuts. I tried the 4 blade and that was a lot better. I also bought the 6 blade set with 8 refills and that razor is even better! If you have thick or dark facial hair, I would recommend this razor. Cost is only $4 more for 24 - 6 blade refills ($32) compared to 24 - 4 blade ($28), which is dirt cheap compared to the brand name refills at $3-$4 each!
The razor handles are way better than the brand name stuff! Ergonomically designed to work well going up or down on your neck.
I dropped them twice on purpose to see if they would break or if the blade would come off and neither time did anything happen! To me, the sample 3 - 4 blade handle feels better. The 6 blade handle looks better (6 blade handle is chrome with black rubberized plastic and the sample 3 - 4 blade handle is white rubberized plastic but has a good non-slip grip on the sides). I'm really impressed with the quality of these razors and handles. All 3, 4, & 6 blade refills fit all of the handles, they are interchangeable!
I recommend the handle with the 3 and 4 blade sample for $3.71 & the 24 - 4 blade refills for $28. You get 25 - 4 blade refills, the handle and one 3 blade refill for $31.76. That's just over $1.22 per refill, with a free handle! If you search online you can find a 20% off coupon. I did and it worked. It brought my cost to 98¢ per refill!
Thanks DORCO for giving me a quality shave at great price. I hate using disposable razors!
Great blade, odd handle

I have been shaving both my face and head every other day for 10 years with a Mach 3. So far the Dorco 4 blade definitely gets a closer shave even after the 3rd use. The only thing I had trouble with is the angle of the head which doesn't seem to have the range the Mach 3 does. I'm sure it just takes some getting used to, I will be ordering the 4 blade in bulk soon.
