I have been using the Pace 6 Plus for a few months now and am loving it! At first I thought 6 blades was gimmicky, but they do make a difference, my first shave with it was the closest I have ever had. The blades last me quite a while as well for I have far from a thick beard.
I just re-ordered more blades with a $20 off promo coupon from Dorco, 28 blades for $30.75 with free shipping to Canada. No more feeling like I'm getting the shaft from the big razor companies!
Decent shave but not he best
Posted by Michel on 2/9/2016
I've been using the Gillette Fusion blades for the latest 8 shirts. I shave pretty much every day, against the grain. And I have a pretty thick beard. This is what I have noticed:
Good: You will never cut yourself on these blades, they are not as sharp and the blade protects your face better than the Gillette Fusion . The handle is on par with the Gillette and they are much cheaper. The strips on the Dorco blades don't disintegrate as quickly as the Fusion.
Cons: They will not provide a close shave as the Gillette blades, which are much sharper (and I cut myself often). The Gillette Fusion blades last longer and are easier to access the hard to shave areas on your face. I found that I actually had to double the number of strokes during shaving compared to the Gillette Fusion to get a decent close shave.
Bottom line. If the blades are around $1 each, then I might consider purchasing them. The Gillette Fusion blades are about $3 each if you buy the 12 pack.
My gut feeling is that I will stay with the Gillette Fusion blades.
Good blades but too bulky
Posted by Michael R on 1/18/2016
I am on my first week with the 6+. I have been Gillette's Fusion and Fusion ProGlide for years. They've always provided a great shave but the pricing is predatory even at Costco.
The blades on this are great. For me the trimming blade is a requirement. But the head is just too bulky and doesn't seem to get close enough to my face. The result is that I don't get as close of a shave and it is hard to shave around my chin without multiple passes. I'll try it a bit more but I had high expectations of this and it didn't quite deliver.
Beats Gillette, hands down.

To start I have black hair that grows thick and full. My job has a very strict no facial hair policy. With my face I have to shave daily. I use to use Gillette Pro-glide Flex Ball. I use roughly $40.00 a month just for my cartridges. I have used Gillette so long I could tell by the decrease of blade quality that they were fixing to release a new product, because they would let existing product line quality decline. With Gilette the sensitivity bar strip would wear off after 2-3 shaves. I purchased the JOE AND JANE kit from DORCO as a trial. For 17.50 I R
recieved a ton of razors, enough for my wife and daughter. I am so pleased. The weight of the handle on the Pace 6 feels good in your hand, it has a great slip resistant grip. The blade heads may be a little larger, but the quality of the shave is unbelievable. I have used the same blade for approx 18 shaves or 3 weeks, the sensitivity bar strip is the same color as it was on start. The razor seems to grab my face and pulls close giving me a closer shave. My use to have to go over the same areas 2 and 3 times, but with DORCO shave once and I'm done. It has drastically cut down my shave time. So in summary, I save 20-30 bucks and several hours, priceless great product.
Year after review

Well, after using for a year.I have had a love /hate relationship with the razor.I love the price&the shave is OK.The hate is that the razor head is to big.You can't get into trimming with it without getting cut.The back trimmer is useless.I would have to go over my face twice because it just didn't get it the first time.So in saying it's a good razor for the money.I have went back to the Gillette Pro-Glide Razor this month. It's small where I can get up under my nose without cutting me.Dorco, you have a OK product&loved it.But,take not with the Gillette's.The razor head is small. So in closing if you like to shave money then go for it &try it.I did come out cheaper&Istill have the handle&2 refill's left&will use sometime. But,like they say you pay for what you get..
Good razor at a great price.

I've been using this model good over a year now, it works great and compares well with the expensive store bought options.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the trimmer blade is not as easy to use as others out there. It must be on a different angle than others I've tried. Once I got used to it, it worked OK. Will still order more when needed.
Not turning back...

I don't know why I took so long to do this, on a whim, I ordered the 6 blade for both me and the wife. This morning with 1/4" beard going, took it to the test... PASSED! I was amazed how fast and comfortable my shave was!.... Just told co-worker about it - DEFINATELY recommend.
Why did I hesitate?
Posted by ToddM on 4/20/2015
I hesitated buying the Dorco system for a while, because I had been loyal to Schick Quattro since it debuted on the market. In my mind, a lower price must mean lower quality, or some sort of catch or gimmick. Furthermore, who has ever heard of a company called "Dorco"? However, Dorco is the real deal. The razor handle and cartridges seem to be of equal build quality to Schick.
The shave is comparable, as well. I have a rather light beard, and shave with Cremo non-lathering shave cream. The Dorco Pace 6 gives me an excellent close shave, and the handle feels just as secure as my old Schick. I had no problems with hair and shave cream clogging up the blades, since it washed away easily.
Don't let the lower price fool you: Dorco is a quality product and a good value. Why is this brand not better known? Folks need to discover it!

Just got my Pace 6 in the mail today. Dorco you have a new customer. I found that the handle was well balanced and had a little more heft than the Gillette. I noticed little difference between the comfort of the Pace 6 and the Fusion. But where the Pace 6 really impressed me was the closeness of the shave. Absolutely superior. Not a bit of stubble left only after pass. I'm very impressed. Thanks for making a great product at a fair price
Not nearly as good as reviews say

I shave both my head and face. I wanted a convenient way to buy razors and also a lower price point. I have been using the Wilkinson Sword branded razors from wal mart, which are a budget razor brand of Shick. They are five bladed razors, the major downfall is the handle, but bring its made by shick the razors fit on a shick handle, which I luckily had.One of the Wilkinson sword blades will get me three shaves of both head and face before it starts to really pull. No razor burn, no cuts. The main problem is finding then at wal mart, they aren't always in stock. First shave with the dorco, yielded a few cuts on my head and horrible razor burn. I have been shaving my head for over 15 years and have only gotten cuts with very cheap razors. Very disappointed in this product. Would have been nice if it lived up to what I have read. Unfortunately for me these razors don't work well.
