Great value, adequate shave, poor trimmer blade

I purchased the trial pack some months ago and have now used all of cartridge types. Note that I have a heavy beard and give any razor a good run-through. If value were the only criteria, I'd rate these 4-5 stars quite easily. But in the end, it comes down to shave quality and comfort, and here the results are only average, at best.
As SJG has mentioned, the bulk of the cartridges around the blades makes it very difficult to trim in tight spots. So, once I was done with the 6+ with its extra trimmer, I always was left with some noticeable stubble under the nose. I actually thought that the shave quality with the 3 and 4-blade models was at least comparable to the 6, and in some ways more comfortable. But without the extra trimmer, they just don't do the job for me.
So, why not just recommend the 6+? Well, the extra trimmer felt excessively sharp and poorly positioned, often resulting in cuts under the nose. In the end, I think the Dorco blades will work great for most men, but sadly, they didn't for me. The price is so good, they're definitely worth a try. I just you have better results than I did.

It's been two weeks and I like the razors. I am using the 6 blade system.... seems to pull a little, but shaving slower seems to help.
Still, the razor is more solid (heads don't pop off) and the trimmer is great. I will buy more.
Customer for life.

Smooth effective and a great deal. Nuff said.

With my sensitive skin, the 6 blade razors shave too close leaving skin irritation afterwards. As well, the cartridge is very thick and not as nimble around the nose. I prefer the 3 and 4 blade systems which also have the advantage of being easier to clean as there is more space between the blades. The 3 blade cartridge is a much smaller cartridge than even the 4 blade cartridge but has better spacing between blades for less clogging.

Not even a joke how good these are and all I've used is the 3 blade Pace, can't imagine the 4 or 6! I just threw my Mach 3 in the garbage after 8 yrs of use
Dorco Trial Pack

I just received the Dorco Trial Pack and have only used the razor with the six blades and I am truly impressed. You get two blades with the razor and four boxes of three blades each. That's 15 blades and a new razor and it was on sale recently for $15! You can't beat this deal -- that's a cost of $1 a blade and you get the razor free. Other blades cost at least $3 apiece. I have only used the 6 blade razor so far and the shave is better than my old Gillette. I am totally sold on the Dorco price and their quality. The trial pack makes a great gift for any guy. Christmas is coming. Women get one for each of the men in your life. They will love you.
Nice intro to Dorco

Wow, that's a lot of blades. Package came and it's a little overwhelming. The handle comes with two 6+ blades and then you get 4 packs of different types of blades. So far I've only used the 6+ and they work great. I tend to push blades as far as they can go. The first blade I used for 10 shaves with no problems. I swapped it out and noticed a slightly closer shave with a fresh blade but now I know I can push it even further. The only downside is the bulk of the razor around the blades. It makes it tough to get in tighter spots like below the nose. The 6+ has a trimmer on the back which helps with this a bit. I don't yet know how the other blade designs will work in this regard.

I just had my ninth shave with the same 6+ blade. I shave daily at 6am, and it's now 10pm and I'm just starting to feel some stubble. Only two things that would improve the shave: The handle needs to be angled more, like a hockey stick. Right now it's too straight, causing soapy water to drip from the blade on to the handle, as well as causing some awkward positions at different angles. There could also be more pivot to the blade. Other than that, everything is fine. I never had so many smooth shaves from one blade, so I don't know when I'll be changing it. At this rate It could be a while before I get to try the three and four blade cartridges.
Best razor and blades I have ever used.

The best razor and blades I have ever use. I love the heftiness of the razor nice, and the blades last a long time and give a great smooth shave, without the ripoff price of the name brands. Thanks for a great product and will be doing my re-order soon.

I wasn't sure what to expect with Dorco so I ordered the trial pack so I can try everything. I am surprised by how great both the 4 and 6 blade men's shavers are (haven't tried the 3 blade yet). They cut well, lubricated and they last just as long, if not longer than my old Schick Hydro. I am never going back to Schick or Gillette again.
