After using this for about a month the shave isnt a close at the competitors. It sometimes misses spots and have go over them again. There good razors for the price but not the best

The order was shipped very fast. Razor handle feels pretty good quality. 1st use I have a shave feels very close. No complaints so far.

I purchased this razor and the Pace 6 trial pack so my son and I could use share cartridge packs and have different razor handles. Shaved everything today with this razor and WOW! It got everything on the first go around (compared to using my Gillette Mach 3). I thought that was smooth, - this is AMAZING! Legs, bikini area, armpits - it got the baby fine and the thicker, longer hairs with no problem. No need to go over any areas twice, and I'm not kidding - I've been feeling my legs for hours.

I was pleasantly surprised when I attached my SXA5000 blades to my SXA1000 handle. For me, the shape and shave were ideal. My only wish remains for the trimmer blade to extend at a wider angle to enable better access to recessed areas around the nose. The angle of the Gillette Fusion is just right -- hint, hint. Love this combination, though. The SXA1000 looks like it's doing 200mph standing still. I follow up on difficult neck regions with the 3 and 4 blade razors. Very pleased! Thank you!!!

I have always found it hard to find a good blade system that did not cost much and performed well. I also had issues with irritation with shaving my neck everyday with throw away blades. I was due for new blades and saw an ad for Dorco. I said what the heck, can't be much better than the blades I was using. So I ordered the 6 blade SXA1040 shaver and blades. Well, I was really surprised!! The cost was lower than the name brand blades! But the real test was using the Dorco product. Here again I was surprised!! The first time I use the them, I had a three day growth of facial hair. I could not believe how well the new blades cut my facial hair. I even shaved the next day to see if my neck would start to feel irritated by shaving again. Well, it did but not as much as the name brand blades do!! And just as close a shave if not better than the name brand blades!! I will stick with this blade system and continue to buy from Dorco!! It really made a difference how often I shave as well as my pocket book. You could not go wrong buying this blade system!

Are these blades the same quality as Gillette or Schick....no. But, they are great blades for the money and it is very much worth making the switch. The thing I had to figure out with the 6 blade razor is to not get in a hurry with my shave. There are 6 blades cutting my beard and they take a little more time to do their job. I am pleased with the quality of the shave and the fact that I can now say goodbye to Gillete and Schick and their ridiculously overpriced blades.

Longtime Mach 3 user that purchased the 6-blade system. I expected these blades to be too bulky and overkill. My facial hairs have gotten really thick/stiff over the years making shaving everyday a must to prevent a painful shave if I have dull blades. These blades gave me a better shave than the Mach 3 and the bulkiness did not create any problems as I am able to get into the tight areas as well as the Mach 3. These blades do not nick me as easily as the Mach 3. I am guessing that this is because the blades are closer together. They seem to last about the same lifetime as any other multiblade system. I also bout the 3 and 4 blade refills but have yet to use them so I CAN'T GIVE A REVIEW.

I have a thick beard, I have to shave every day. I shave my head twice a week. The six blades are just too close together to shave quickly and smoothly. These do not work for me. My beard is above average thickness so your millage my vary. If your beard is thick and grows fast like mine try the cartridges with few blades.

On a typical week I shave perhaps three days since my hair growth is slightly slower than others and my hair pattern is medium thickness. With that said, using the 6 blade shaving system 1000 I found the shave smoother, less irritation from hair snags and the blade is longer lasting maintaining a sharper edge throughout. Thus far in three weeks I have yet to change the blade since it does not accumulate residue from the shaving cream and the Aloe strip is still intact. The razor blades are also mighty durable and nearly free of nicking even with my sharp jaw line. The cost of the handle and blades will save me in the area of $70 this year alone and furthermore, I'm not the sucker stuck in the grocery store aisle spending $5 per blade. The vibrating Gillette handle I used to carry is now just a gimmick proven by my satisfaction of clean and painless shaving with the Dorco system. I enjoyed this so much, I even sent my buddy (Med school alumni roomie) a set for his own use.
I highly recommend this investment and I will not switch back to Gillette any time soon.
Hope this review helps you make the switch!

I have been shaving for over 40 years and the cost of razor blades is ridiculous. I figured it was time to try and find something else out there and low and behold I found Dorco. These blades outperformed my old blades for about half the price. Awesome. Cheaper and Better.
