Dorco 6 Blade System

Posted by Benson Greene on 5/20/2013

Previously have used name brand 4 blade systems.
I find the dorco 6 blade works as well, is it better, I don't see that it is any better.
If the cartridges last as long as name brand then the Dorco will live up to its claims and be less expensive. My only gripe about the razor is the length of the pivot it requires an odd arm/hand position to shave, but I can adapt to that.

Unique Design

With 6 blades it seems to last quite some time with a good shave and no cuts to heal yet. I like it.

Best razors I've ever used!

Posted by Ned Livornese on 5/8/2013

These are hands-down the best razors I have ever used. I'm on the 2nd blade 15+ days later. When I think I was paying $3-$4 per blade before this, I just get angry. I'm a Dorco customer for life, thank you!

As good as Gillette

Posted by Ali on 5/7/2013

I was getting tired of paying $4 per blade for the Gillette Fusions. I heard of these while browsing and I gave them a shot and I am glad I did. They give a smooth, close shave without any irritation and for way less. The blades also lasted over 8 shaves before they started to nick and pull. My only complaint is that there's no single blade on the back like the Fusion. I will definitely be purchasing these blades from now on and would recommend them for any guy looking to save on razors.

Wicked Awesome

I have a beard that has been referred to as barbed wire. This razor glides through it no problem. I hadn't shaved for about 2 weeks and I only had to go over 1 time each pass to remove my beard (I can grow a full beard in 4 days). Way better than any razor I have ever used, and I have tried all of them. Plus I also shave my head, and have no problems with clogging or pulling I had with some of those other so called premier razors. Customer for life.

I'm in love!

Still using the first cartridge. I've gotten five or six shaves and it's still feeling good. I have a beard so I only shave my neck and cheeks a bit. Very smooth on the neck. I'd been using Gillette and nicking myself every few days. These feel as if they'll never cut me. Love them, love the price, love the convenience.

Impressed

I ordered these for my very particular and brand conscious friend who shaves his head face and chest. He WAS using Fusion Pro Glide, but swears he will never purchase those again as long as these are available.

Not an everyday shave

Posted by JFB on 4/28/2013

I wish the six blade razor gave a closer shave. It causes so much irritation that I cannot shave the next day. The problem with the six blades is maneuvering around my chin leaves a few patches. If you skip a few days it gives a nice shave that will last a day and a half. I think you still need an additional razor to use when you need a shave a day after you used the Dorco.
Best bet is to have an electric to supplement the Dorco.
Still a great value razor.

You get what you pay for...

Posted by Rob Johnson on 4/28/2013

You know, you go to Costco and see the Gillette razors for 45 bucks and you think SCREW THAT! While they are certainly more affordable there than at the drug store, 45 bucks for 16 cartridges seems excessive. So, looking for alternatives, I thought I would check out the Dorco. After shipping, I think it averaged out to a 30% savings or so. And the truth?
They're about 70% as good. Seems like no matter what we do in life, when we pay less, we almost always GET less.

The Dorcos are okay. Just not as good as the Gillette. Clunky squarish design that does not get into tight places (under nose, around mouth) as well, and the blade is at kind of a funny angle and does not flex as well as the Gillette. It's early yet, but they do not seem to last as long-maybe a shave less- and the reloading mechanism is cumbersome and not as smooth as the Gillette's.
All in all, they are acceptable, just not as good.
That's why they are cheaper.

still deciding

I shave my head and it is hard to find a good razor to get a good shave. this one is ok so far, only been through 2 cartridges so far. it doesn't get too close of a shave though. wondering if the 6 blades is too many for shaving the head? the price is good though. I have 8 more cartridges to use and then maybe try a different one.

not close enough.

I thought the 6 blades would be better than 5. I was wrong. Or maybe it's the quality... With a gillette i wont start growing hair back on my legs for at least 2 days. I have hair growing back the same day with these razors.
